Collision Warning System for Medium Wheel Loaders
Collision Warning System is a safety system that utilizes three technologies–Rear Object Detection, Rear View Camera with People Detection, and Motion Inhibit–to help motivate behavior change and increase situational awareness of the jobsite.
NEXT-GENERATION SAFETY
- Collision Warning System includes three technologies: Rear Object Detection (available separately), Rear View Camera with People Detection, and Motion Inhibit.
- This system combines the detection capabilities of all three technologies to empower machine operators and drive behavior change.

REAR OBJECT DETECTION
- Radar sensors provide the operator with monitoring behind the machine to boost jobsite confidence and awareness.
- Audible and visual alerts help to reduce the risk of collisions with static and moving objects.
- System alerts you when an object is in the critical zone behind the machine while in neutral or reverse.
- Warning levels (1-5) change with ground speed, reducing “nuisance” alarms and increasing operator acceptance and awareness.
PEOPLE DETECTION
- People Detection is an intelligent vision camera system that alerts an operator when someone enters within a machine’s hazard zone.
- This system differentiates people from background objects and can detect multiple moving and stationary workers at once.
- Three levels of alerts dynamically adjust based on a person’s proximity to the machine.
- System highlights people in red bounding boxes on the in-cab monitor to help operators more quickly manage potential risks.
- Utilizes one camera with up to 180-degree coverage - detection distance of 8 meters off the machine centerline and 16 meters behind the machine.*
MOTION INHIBIT
- Motion Inhibit works with Rear Object Detection and People Detection to provide extra safety around stationary machines.
- When the machine is stationary for a short time, Motion Inhibit automatically prevents direct reverse gear engagement if hazards are detected.
- If the operator goes back into neutral and the danger is gone, the machine can then reverse.
AVAILABILITY
- Rear Object Detection is available as a standalone technology product.
- Both People Detection and Motion Inhibit are exclusive to the Collision Warning System.
- Collision Warning System can be installed at the factory or on compatible machines as an aftermarket kit.
