Our Technicians on 7×7
It’s the lifestyle I love. Nick, Diesel Technician says I get a mini holiday every second week — you work hard, then have seven full days to rest and do what you enjoy. For me, that’s camping and motorbike riding.
It’s easier to plan ahead, I’m home every night, and public holidays are paid (which isn’t always the case on mine sites). I also find I get more done — whether that’s tackling jobs at home or heading away on a short break.
On top of that, you work with like-minded people, great products and equipment, a family-oriented branch, and a strong variety of work
Ryan is a Boilermaker with a young family. With his wife studying and completing placements, the roster works well to support their family life.
He values the seven days off — being home for dinner, tucking the kids into bed, and spending quality time together. Outside of work, Ryan trains Muay Thai and makes the most of his time off to recharge.
He enjoys the balance of working hard for seven days, then coming back refreshed. The time off also allows him to catch up on everything that needs doing at home, making the lifestyle work both professionally and personally.
For Diesel Technician Shaun, the biggest drawcard is the 7/7 roster. Working six months of the year has allowed him to spend more time at home with his young family and growing teenagers.
The roster has given him the chance to come back into town, be present for family life, and enjoy the things that matter most — getting to the kids’ basketball every Friday, after-school fishing and bike rides, caravanning as a family, playing more golf, tackling home renovations, and catching up on family functions.
