Surveillance Officer- Part Time

We’re on the lookout for a Part-Time Surveillance Officer to join our dedicated Operations team. This is more than just monitoring screens - this role is at the frontline of risk management, compliance, and incident response across our busy precinct.
In this role you will:
Provide proactive and effective surveillance of the business premises and assist in maintaining the safety and security of staff, contractors, members, and visitors. You'll ensure compliance with company policies, security procedures, and relevant legislation through consistent monitoring, clear reporting, and strong collaboration with Venue Management and Security.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Venue Managers to ensure security personnel are performing to expectation
- Working with GM and IT to ensure CCTV system is working at full capacity
- Proactively monitoring CCTV system for potential threats or issues
- Assist Gaming Department in AML/CTF monitoring and patron disputes in a timely matter
- Monitor and review CCTV systems in real time, ensuring situational awareness and swift identification of any issues or incidents.
- Report faulty equipment or CCTV inadequacies to the GM.
- Record, file, and archive relevant images/footage, and copy material to secure digital media when required for investigations or legal use.
- Interpret and apply Common Law in a security context, ensuring appropriate actions are taken within legal boundaries.
- Co-ordinate security personnel during your shift, ensuring effective coverage and timely response to situations.
- Identify and document any faults or issues within the surveillance system and escalate appropriately.
- Provide feedback to the General Manager on the performance and conduct of on-site security personnel.
- In consultation with the GM, report on events and incidents to a third party
What You’ll need to be Successful:
- Security Licence (1A/1C minimum) - a must-have to perform your duties lawfully.
- RSA & RCG Competency Cards
- Certificate III in Security Operations (Control Room) – highly regarded.
- Experience using CCTV software, including reviewing, tagging, and burning footage to secure formats.
- Strong "eyes-on" surveillance skills with the ability to stay focused and alert over extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail - you notice what others miss.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication for professional reporting.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially during critical incidents.
- A proactive and disciplined approach to compliance, safety, and confidentiality.

Hours & Remuneration
- Part-time, minimum 8 hours per week.
- The full-time equivalent salary for this role is $73,000 plus superannuation; however, remuneration for part-time hours will be calculated at a flat hourly rate of $36.94.
