Role Summary:
DevelopmentWA is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Conveyancing Officer to join our successful team for a 12-month fixed-term contract (parental leave cover).
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and administering large numbers of Contracts of Sale, including overseeing post-settlement conditions and related conveyancing duties. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong industry knowledge and a passion for delivering high-quality customer service in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Manage sales and acquisition contracts in line with DevelopmentWA’s policies and industry standards.
- Monitor delinquent and forecast settlements using DevelopmentWA systems to ensure accurate dates.
- Negotiate with internal and external stakeholders on settlement matters.
- Prepare and reconcile settlement statements, adjusting rates and taxes as needed.
- Coordinate settlement variations, substitute purchasers, and post-settlement conditions.
- Prepare and lodge conveyancing documents, conducting settlements via PEXA or paper.
- Maintain and update our key systems such as Clarity and Objective.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Monitor post-settlement compliance, processing approvals for extensions, on-sales, and repurchases.
- Assist with mortgage registration in our role as caveator and liaise with banks and financial institutions.
- Collaborate with sales officers, managers, real estate agents, settlement agents, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct research and ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
- An understanding of land subdivision processes and Landgate functions.
- The ability to perform a wide range of conveyancing tasks, including the preparation of complex conveyancing documents.
- Experience managing your own portfolio with minimal supervision and a solid understanding of the conveyancing industry.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and its application.
- Ability to interpret and understand Contracts of Sale and DevelopmentWA’s Sale Conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Good computer skills with the ability to use and learn DevelopmentWA systems and other web-based tools such as Landgate, Map Viewer, and PEXA.
- Well-organised and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
