Are you an experienced and passionate Chef looking for your next great career opportunity? We want to hear from you!  We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join the team at PizzAperta by Stefano Manfredi, where authentic Italian flavours meet exceptional quality.

  • Salary range from $80,000 + depending on experience

The day-to-day:

 

As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in delivering consistently high culinary standards, maintaining the renowned brand quality, and inspiring the team to create memorable dining experiences. You’ll bring strong technical skills, a collaborative approach, and a genuine love of food and hospitality.

 

  • Champion the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients and ensure dishes reflect the signature style and standard of PizzAperta.
  • Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Maintain exceptional brand and food safety standards, ensuring compliance with HACCP and workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, ordering, and wastage to support cost control targets.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and an exceptional guest experience.

 

Who's right for the job?

 

Someone with experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent leadership position within a high volume, quality focused restaurant.  You will be hands on with the ability to manage, inspire, motivate your team whilst liaising with a wide range of stakeholders including senior level management.  Your advanced time management, organisational and task delegation will ensure the smooth running of the kitchen operation. 

 

 

 What do you need to be considered?

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant environment
  • Strong passion for seasonal ingredients, Italian cuisine, and exceptional food presentation
  • A hands-on leader with excellent communication skills and a commitment to teamwork
  • Flexible and adaptable, with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and uphold premium brand standards
  • Experience cooking with a traditional Italian oven 
  • Experience preparing homemade traditional sauces, and shaping and stretching pizza dough by hand
  • Experience preparing traditional Italian street food
  • Be able to work under pressure, in a heated environment
  • Ability to ensure quality, standards and cleanliness are met and exceeded
  • Available to work full time hours across any of the 7 days a week including nights, weekends and public holidays
