We offer apprenticeships in Mobile Equipment (Earthmoving), Heavy Road Transport (Trucks), Metal Fabrication (Boilermaker and Auto Electrical) across our branch network.
As a William Adams Apprentice you will join over 300 Diesel Technicians that are passionate about what they do an are leaders in their field. You will enjoy state of the art training, above award wages, uniform (including overalls, personal protective equipment and steel capped boots) and a subsidised Caterpillar tool kit.
At the end of your apprenticeship, we offer great scope for promotion and advancement within the company. Many of our Senior Managers began their careers as trade apprentices with William Adams, including our Executive Chairman, Dale Elphinstone.
To be a William Adams Apprentice, you must have initiative, mechanical aptitude and a thirst for a challenge. You must have completed a minimum of year 10, with sound results in Maths, English and Science or Technology. We look for candidates who are committed to a successful career as a technician within our industry. It is expected that you will have some knowledge or experience within our industry.

William Adams can offer work experience to students from February through to November, with placement's available in the following areas; Diesel Technicians - Earthmoving and Truck Service, Boilermakers, Parts/Warehousing, Finance and Administration, Sales and Marketing, Human Resources and Information Technology.
William Adams recognises that our work experience program directly feeds into our apprenticeship intake, and encourage any future Apprentices to do at least one week’s work experience. Work experience will give you a better understanding and teach you some of the basic skills required to become a fully qualified Caterpillar Diesel Technician.
